"I became familiar with the work of the Loudoun Christian Justice Mission (LCJM) through the Bible studies offered while I was incarcerated at the Adult Detention Center (ADC). Some teachers helped me understand the inerrancy of Scripture by demonstrating its unity and harmony over many centuries, even though there are many human authors from different cultures and languages. To me, nothing could be more important or serious than knowing that what the Bible says is eternal truth.
When I learned about the LCJM Aftercare Program, I signed up right away because I want to seek the Lord in all that I do to worship and praise Him. In the Bible studies I had endless questions and still do. I requested my current mentor because he gives answers that I can easily understand and supports his answers with many passages of Scripture. This further demonstrates how God’s Word perfectly threads together, all pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Despite having a very busy schedule, my mentor has been there for me when I needed it most. He has helped with transportation, job applications, family counseling, and with beginning to get established in a local church. He has been a good example to me of how a Christian should live. He has established a personal friendship with my family and has helped us grow in grace, following Christ. If I had not gotten a mentor with the LCJM program, I may have turned off the path again to the wrong direction. I am thankful to God for this program."
